Stewart Square Fridh Corporation is a leader in managing commercial real estate. The Company owns and manages over 375,000 square feet of commercial real estate in the Rockford area.

In 1916 John Fridh came to Rockford from Sweden as a homebuilder. His company, now John Fridh & Sons, Inc., is recognized as a leader in commercial and residential construction in northern Illinois. Fridh Corporation incorporated in 1977 to develop and manage real estate properties for the Fridh family. Mr. Roy Fridh serves as chairman of Fridh Corporation his son, Mr. John M. Fridh, serves as president of both organizations.

The Company’s commercial real estate in downtown Rockford includes Stewart Square, the renovated D.J. Stewart Department Store. The Company transformed the property, originally built in 1890, into a modern office building in 1988 while carefully retaining its historic exterior. The Company continues to upgrade and improve its commercial properties to meet the expanding needs of its tenants. In 2005, the Company began the process of installing fiber optic cable to its commercial properties. This enhancement provides commercial tenants with a global business outreach and a competitive advantage not widely offered.
